SSS-50 MKII
Indoor Three-Core Shielded Isolation Power Line (Bulk Roll)
The world’s only shielded three-core hollow-conductor power line—
designed to captivate through sound alone.
Building on the proven success of Monitor Acoustics’ hollow-core single-conductor entrance cables (HU-165 MKIII, HU-220 MKIII) in reference-grade power systems, the SSS-50 MKII represents a full evolution of our hollow-conductor technology into the realm of high-current, low-impedance indoor three-core power distribution.
Purpose-engineered for large-scale audio systems, flagship amplifiers, professional power routing, and demanding high-current applications, SSS-50 MKII begins at the source with meticulously selected 6N LC-OFC ultra-high-purity copper, featuring an exceptionally low oxygen content of just 2.8 ppm.
Each conductor undergoes multiple stages of annealing and refinement during manufacturing, fully relieving internal metal stress and ensuring long-term stability, consistency, and purity—forming the critical foundation for high-current delivery with minimal distortion.
Hollow Conductor × Aerospace-Grade Craftsmanship × Higher Energy Density
SSS-50 MKII employs a sophisticated conductor architecture in which ten copper strands are bundled into a single unit, while each phase (Live, Neutral, Ground) is formed from six S-twisted bundles, creating a highly stable hollow dielectric core at the center of each conductor.
This structure draws directly from NASA-inspired aerospace conductor design principles, leveraging the physics of the skin effect, where current naturally travels along the outer surface of a conductor at higher frequencies.
The hollow core simultaneously increases effective conduction area, promotes natural airflow, and enhances thermal stability, resulting in faster current transfer, improved heat dissipation, and reduced energy compression under load.
The 10-strand × six-bundle symmetrical geometry effectively cancels inter-conductor magnetic interference, significantly reducing susceptibility to external EMI and RFI, while also suppressing mechanical resonance within the cable itself.
The result is a quieter background, deeper soundstage, and more stable imaging.
The hollow air dielectric further creates a naturally low dielectric constant environment, substantially reducing capacitive effects. This allows high-frequency extension to remain open and unforced, ensures more linear energy transfer, and preserves fine detail and control—even during large-scale dynamic swings.
Multi-Layer Dielectric Architecture — Engineered for Extreme Stability
Each of the three hollow-core conductors (Live / Neutral / Ground) is individually insulated with HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), a high-dielectric-strength material chosen for its excellent heat resistance, superior mechanical rigidity, fast and stable electric-field response, and non-toxic, environmentally friendly characteristics.
The conductors are clearly color-coded — Black (Live), White (Neutral), and Green (Ground) — ensuring precise phase identification while maintaining structural consistency and long-term reliability under high-current operation.
Between the three cores, natural cotton fillers are introduced to absorb micro-vibrations and structural resonance.
This is followed by a dual-layer insulation paper system that stabilizes dielectric behavior while further damping vibration.
A CPVC layer reinforces torsional strength, pressure resistance, and overall structural rigidity.
Surrounding this is a dual-shield system—an inner high-precision copper foil and an outer high-density OFC braided copper shield—forming a complete metallic dielectric barrier that effectively blocks EMI and RFI contamination.
The outer jacket is formed from TPV (Thermoplastic Vulcanizate), available in Blue or Orange, offering exceptional durability across extreme temperatures (–60°C to 135°C), resistance to oil and environmental aging, and enhanced flexibility.
The TPV compound is infused with nano-scale functional powders exhibiting far-infrared properties, further improving conductivity efficiency and vibration control.
Combining the tactile refinement of rubber with the structural benefits of plastic, TPV is also fully recyclable, aligning with Monitor Acoustics’ commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
The Power Core for Flagship Systems
SSS-50 MKII marks another major breakthrough in Monitor Acoustics’ high-current hollow-conductor technology.
While the hollow structure has evolved from a seven-core to a six-core configuration, no copper mass has been reduced. Instead, conductor material has been redistributed more evenly across six cores, resulting in a denser, more uniform, and structurally robust cable.
This refinement significantly increases manufacturing complexity and precision requirements. Every parameter—conductor diameter ratios, winding direction, strand geometry, thermal treatment, and final forming—has been repeatedly tested and optimized.
When stripped, the 2.8 ppm ultra-low-oxygen hollow copper strands reveal a clean, precise, and mechanically stable internal structure, reflecting exceptional energy density and consistency.
Driven by NASA-inspired engineering and refined through Monitor Acoustics’ artisanal craftsmanship, the SSS-50 MKII delivers unprecedented power weight, control, and soundstage scale.
Whether deployed in high-end amplifiers, power distribution systems, or in-wall main power runs, it provides cleaner, more stable, and more authoritative power—allowing music’s dynamics, layering, and nuance to fully unfold.
