In 2011, Monitor Acoustics introduced the legendary AG-P (for analog) and AG-Q (for digital) Isolation AC Receptacles. These models set the benchmark with painstaking attention to every aspect—from custom mold design and proprietary metal alloys to polishing, plating, and assembly. Featuring a rare beryllium copper alloy with a five-claw contact structure, each contact blade is nano-polished and electroplated with precision-grade noble metals using specially designated high-purity electroplating fluids. The result: unrivaled power flow, sonic clarity, and mechanical stability.
To make this level of performance more accessible, we developed the AG-I / AG-H models in 2013. Built on nearly the same structural foundation as their premium counterparts, the AG-I offers a cost-effective alternative while retaining nearly all of the high-end materials and production processes. The differences lie mainly in plating specifications, color finishing, and packaging.
The IG AG-I is optimized for high-current analog applications, such as power amplifiers, tube amps, and AV receivers. Its contact blades are made from high-purity beryllium copper, finished with platinum and palladium plating, nano-polished for ultra-smooth conduction surfaces, and cryogenically treated at -196°C to relieve internal stress and enhance atomic alignment.
