Today’s engineering and manufacturing techniques have come a long way since the 1990s and early 2000s. Modern processes are more precise, modular, and efficient than ever before. Tasks that once took extensive manual labor can now be executed faster and with greater accuracy thanks to advanced technologies—delivering higher-quality results in both performance and consistency.
This leap in capability is fully embodied in Monitor Acoustics’ MaQ R+Plus Process. By integrating the latest materials, methods, and high-tech machinery with traditional craftsmanship, we’ve created a power cable that delivers what we call the "Middle Path Sound"—a pure, uncolored audio performance. It avoids the cold, sterile character of some modern gear and the veiled, murky textures of old-school designs. Instead, it delivers refined power transmission with clarity, richness, and soul.
The MaQ-505-R+ and MaQ-503-R+ are high-end isolation power cables crafted using the MaQ R+Plus process. The cable core features our finest 5N OCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) stress-free single-crystal copper conductors. Our stress-relief treatment aligns the copper crystals tightly while eliminating strain-induced artifacts during production. This results in a highly efficient and ultra-smooth electrical signal path.
For the dielectric layer, we use custom-blended PVC, along with Nylon and PE compounds in the connectors—all infused with trace amounts of nano-scale organic ionic powder. These microscopic elements play a critical role in stabilizing the soundstage, enhancing microdetail, and boosting musical energy. A 0.5µm imported copper shielding foil is wrapped along the length of the cable to ensure 100% rejection of EMI and RFI interference, maximizing conductivity and signal purity.
The plugs follow our custom ACE series architecture, with both metal contacts and dielectric shells undergoing proprietary treatments. While the internal metals differ slightly between the 505 and 503, both are nano-polished, plated with rare and precious ruthenium-gold alloy, and cryogenically treated at -196°C for crystal refinement and stress elimination.
Adding to its sophistication, each cable comes with our signature olive-shaped non-magnetic alloy damping blocks, designed to suppress micro-vibrations and improve image clarity. Users can also adjust the position of the dampers to find the system’s sonic sweet spot.
