To help users clearly understand the quality of their home’s electrical supply, Monitor Acoustics developed the PLA-100 Power Line Analyzer—a simple yet powerful tool to audibly detect power noise in any AC outlet.
Using it is straightforward: plug the PLA-100 into the outlet you want to test, turn the volume knob, and listen to the sound emitted from the built-in speaker on top. If the noise is faint or virtually inaudible even at full volume, congratulations—your power is clean. But if the speaker emits noticeable or loud noise with just a small turn of the knob, it indicates your power line may be affected by unwanted noise or interference.
Different noise sources and frequencies can produce varied sonic signatures. For best results, test each outlet and circuit individually.
